Platform & Security
Enterprise-grade plumbing, small-business simplicity
Granular roles, multi-branch operations, audit trails, MFA, and structural tenant isolation — with an open door to the rest of your stack via API, Zapier, webhooks, and native integrations.
The features you compare in a demo are table stakes; the platform underneath is what you live with. Who can see payroll numbers? What happens when a disgruntled ex-employee still has a login? Can the second branch run its own book without seeing the first one’s? Will your data be exportable the day you want it to be? These are the questions that hurt to answer late.
WebWork answers them up front. Access is role-based down to individual permissions, every consequential change lands in an audit log, privileged accounts carry two-factor authentication, and each company’s data is structurally isolated — enforced in the data layer, not by convention. And your data is never hostage: CSV in, CSV out, plus an API, webhooks, and Zapier for everything in between.
Control who does what
A growing team needs boundaries that the software enforces, not ones the handbook hopes for.
Roles & permissions
Granular access for owners, office, sales, and techs — dozens of individual permissions behind sensible default roles.
Multi-branch
Run multiple locations under one roof with branch-level views and assignments.
Audit & activity logs
Who changed what, when — always answerable, from payments to permission changes.
Security you don’t have to think about
The boring security work is built in — encryption, isolation, audit trails — with MFA ready to require for privileged roles.
Two-factor authentication
MFA for privileged accounts, with recovery codes — a stolen password isn’t a stolen business.
Tenant isolation
Your data is structurally separated from every other company’s, enforced at the data layer on every query.
Encrypted credentials
Integration credentials are encrypted at rest; card data never touches WebWork servers at all.
Plays well with your stack
WebWork is the system of record, not a walled garden.
API, Zapier & webhooks
Connect WebWork to the rest of your tools — push events out, pull data in.
Native integrations
QuickBooks, Stripe, Square, Twilio SMS, Google Calendar, and Google Business Profile.
Import & export
CSV in, CSV out — with free data migration from your old system when you switch.
Frequently asked questions
How is my company’s data kept separate from other companies?
Isolation is structural: every record carries your company’s identity and every query is scoped to it in the data layer — in production, an unscoped query fails rather than leaks. It’s defense-in-depth, not a convention.
Does WebWork support two-factor authentication?
Yes — TOTP-based MFA with recovery codes for every account, and it can be required for privileged roles so an owner or admin password alone isn’t enough.
Can I run multiple branches or locations?
Yes — the Multi-Branch module gives each location branch-level views and assignments under one company.
What integrations are available?
QuickBooks (accounting sync), Stripe and Square (payments), Twilio (two-way SMS), Google Calendar, and Google Business Profile — plus an open API, webhooks, and Zapier.
Can I get my data out?
Always — CSV export is built in, and the API gives programmatic access. Your data is never held hostage.
